Working Mechanism of the Quality Assurance Unit

Within the framework of the state’s interest in education and considering it the first national project to meet the challenges of the third millennium, and in light of the focus on the issue of quality assurance in higher education institutions, the establishment of the Quality Assurance Unit at the National Liver Institute came as a necessity and a true reflection of Menoufia University’s interest in the quality of the educational process and work to develop steps Effective to ensure continuous improvement to reach the accreditation stage, which leads to gaining the confidence of the medical community in the graduates of the National Liver Institute locally, regionally and internationally.

Mission

The Quality Assurance Unit seeks to ensure the application of a system for follow-up, review and performance evaluation in all the institute’s educational, research and service activities in light of the standards of the National Authority for Quality Assurance of Education and Accreditation to raise the level of performance to advance the educational process at the institute and to reach a distinguished graduate who meets the needs of the labor market

The Strategic Objectives

Ensuring that the conditions and requirements of the National Authority for Quality Assurance of Education and Accreditation are met to maintain continuous academic accreditation.

Ensuring the existence of strong and effective relations with the Menoufia University Center to ensure the quality of education in a way that ensures the excellence of performance in the Quality Assurance Unit at the Institute.

Disseminate and enhance the culture and concepts of quality in all categories of the Institute in a way that supports the accomplishment of tasks and achieves excellence in the areas of institutional capacity and educational effectiveness.

Building and improving the institutional capacities and human cadres of the Institute through specialized training programs to raise performance efficiency, especially in the field of performance evaluation and comprehensive quality assurance.

Functions of the Quality Assurance Unit Committees

Leadership and Strategic Management Committee :

Preparing and updating the vision, mission, plan and strategic objectives of the institute in line with the university's vision, mission and strategic plan, with the participation of all concerned groups.

Develop the unit's vision, mission, strategic objectives and operational plans, and document them from the Institute's Board.

The development of the organizational and administrative structure of the unit and its approval by the Council of the Institute

Preparing all documents and reports (certified and authenticated) at the unit's headquarters.

Quality management committee :

Apply the necessary mechanisms to achieve the effectiveness and continuity of the Institute's internal audit systems.

Determining the training needs of faculty members, the supporting staff, and administrators, setting training plans to develop their capabilities, measuring the training returns, and making reports to follow up the performance of the training plans.

Activating continuous communication and cooperation with the Menoufia University Center to ensure the quality of education at the university to evaluate performance in order to achieve and ensure the application of the total quality system.

Organizing and holding workshops, training courses, meetings and meetings with the different groups in the institute, the graduate and the external beneficiary to qualify the various leaders and promising cadres in the college and spread the culture of quality.

Postgraduate Studies and Research Committee :

Preparing a research plan related to the needs of society and achieving scientific competition at the local and international levels

Follow up on the development and implementation of mechanisms to support the scientific research climate, urge researchers to innovate and research production, and follow up on the implementation of the research plan for the various scientific departments.

Preparing a database of published scientific research and theses, and periodically monitoring their development.

Environmental Affairs and Community Service Committee :

Develop a plan for community participation that includes Egypt's vision for sustainable development.

Involve the actors in the local community in the self-evaluation processes and support the implementation of improvement and development plans within the institute, and ensure that the representatives of the local community supporting the institute are honored in order to build a strong and influential supportive opinion of quality.

Activating and following up the performance of the training and crisis and disaster management units at the institute.

Internal audit committee :

Create a guide for the Quality Assurance Unit and announce it to educate the different groups in the institute about their role and responsibilities to maintain local accreditation and reach international accreditation.

Preparing the self-study and annual reports of the Institute and setting improvement plans.

Develop and implement mechanisms to follow up on the Institute's activities in the three sectors.

Determining the strengths and weaknesses of the institution and proposing solutions to develop plans for improvement and development in all areas.

Activating the role of the various committees of the Quality Assurance Unit and approving and documenting all reports of the committees' activities.

Education and Students Committee :

Follow up the preparation of documents for course and program files (description and report of courses and programs for the postgraduate stage) in accordance with the requirements and forms of the National Authority for Quality Assurance and Accreditation of Education.

Evaluation of program and course reports to verify the intended educational outcomes.

Benefiting from the results of students' evaluation of the courses in developing the proposed improvement plans and following up on their implementation.

Preparing questionnaires for the different categories of the institute, the graduate and the external beneficiary.

Discussing quality issues in the Institute's council, main committees, and councils of scientific departments.

Activating the role of the internal and external auditors of the academic curricula and educational programs for all scientific disciplines for the postgraduate stage and benefiting from the auditors' opinions in setting improvement and development plans.

Education and Human Resources Committee :

Preparing flyers, posters, advertisements and brochures in connection with the dissemination and promotion of the quality culture at the Institute.

Develop the technological infrastructure that serves the educational and research process.

Establishing a safety and safety data system for facilities, laboratories and treatment units.
